The toll of journalists murdered in 2017 has made Mexico the most dangerous country for journalists, outside of conflict zones.
While Mexican officials insist they are working to stop the killing of journalists, organized crime gangs and corrupt officials offended by reporters' coverage are believed to be behind the killings.
