Latin American Perspectives Lectureship

Call for Nominations

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CLAS is not currently accepting nominations for the Latin American Perspectives Lecturer.  We hope to open the call for nominations in autumn 2022 for the academic year 2023-24

Thanks to the generous sponsorship from donors of the Latin American Perspectives Journal, Stanford’s Center for Latin American Studies invites both junior and senior Latin Americanist scholars to campus for short term to lecture, teach, and do research at Stanford. Latin American Perspectives Lecturers are selected through a competitive process on the basis of academic qualifications, the quality of research plans, and the relevance of both to the Center's mission and objectives.

Preference is given to scholars who have recently published in the Latin American Perspectives Journal (http://latinamericanperspectives.com/). Members of traditionally under-represented groups are encouraged to apply.

Latin American Perspectives Lecturer applicants may propose to lecture, teach a one-unit course or co-teach a course with a Stanford faculty, and engage in research at Stanford University for a period of one to two weeks, enriching the school´s teaching and research on Latin America, while benefiting from collaborative opportunities and resources at Stanford University. Appointees receive a round trip economy class airfare, housing subsidy, and a modest stipend.

Office facilities at CLAS may be available as space allows.
