Rodrigo Contreras-Arratia is an Assistant Professor at the Universidad Católica de Temuco, Chile. He earned his PhD in 2020 from the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds (United Kingdom), where his research focused on complex volcanic seismic sources and their application to explosive volcanism and caldera-collapse events.

Antonia Mardones Marshall is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at the Universidad de Tarapacá in Arica, Chile, and a Principal Investigator at the Millennium Nucleus on Perceptions and Consequences of Immigration (MIGRA), an interdisciplinary research center funded by Chile’s National Agency for Research and Development. She is a sociologist and anthropologist whose research examines how states produce and regulate racial, ethnic, and national boundaries through processes of classification, migration governance, and legal recognition.
