Magna Inácio is an associate professor of Political Science and former director of the Center for Legislative Studies (CEL-DCP) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She holds a PhD in Political Science from UFMG, and has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Oxford (2012) and German Institute of Global and Area Studies (2014; 2016). She has conducted extensive comparative research on political institutions, coalition politics, and Executive-Legislative relations. Her research interests include coalition governments, the institutional presidency, and parliamentary elites in Brazil and Latin America. Inácio co-edited, with Lucio Rennó, Legislativo Brasileiro em Perspectiva Comparada, and, with Fatima Anastasia et al, Elites Parlamentares na América Latina. She has published in journals such as Presidential Studies Quarterly, America Hoy, Journal of Politics in Latin America and Brazilian Political Science Review.
She will be teaching “POLISCI 348A: Politics and Institutions in Latin America (POLISCI 248A)” in Winter 2019.
