How to Declare for the Global Studies Minor in Latin American Studies

Those interested in declaring the GS-LAS minor must develop an individual program plan using the program proposal spreadsheet below and set up an appointment with a GS-LAS minor advisor (either the CLAS academic and student services officer or associate director) to review their minor plan PRIOR to declaring in Axess.

Units taken for major credit cannot be double-counted toward the minor. By informing us which courses students intend to use to satisfy the GS-LAS minor, they allow us to accurately monitor progress and ensure successful completion of all minor requirements.

Minor Declaration Process

1. Download a copy of our GS-LAS Program Proposal spreadsheet and fill it out.
2. Set up an appointment with a GS-LAS minor advisor. We require that you meet with a GS-LAS advisor to determine whether the GS-LAS minor is a good fit for your academic interests, review the minor requirements, and approve your GS-LAS Program Proposal.
3. Once a GS-LAS advisor has approved your GS-LAS Program Proposal, declare the Global Studies minor and subplan via Axess.
